Hello,
Recently i got an idea in protecting my servers more than enough so what do you recommend? Fail2Ban or DDoS Deflate?
Note that i was securing my servers by changing the ssh port and using vnstat/ip tables to block ddos ips
After reading some information about both of these scripts i see that DDoS deflate is better because its sending emails but i think that i have to setup mail server first.
I didn't post this in VPS Support because its not something connected to my VPS, My friend got some problems and i was helping
Tell me your experience with them

if you have been laid off or furloughed or your business stopped due to covid 19 or lockdown measures taken to stop covid 19, you are eligible for a free 3 months pro membership at codecademy. they are offering 100000 such account upgrades.

existing pro members are not eligible.

the rules say you will have to produce some proof that you are thusly affected. i have no idea how though.

good luck.

edit.

i forgot the link.

I have been looking for some cool online courses from few universities since the beginning of this lock-down and found some really good free courses offered by many famous universes around the world like Harvard.  There are several good sites which let you search thse courses easily. For Example edx.org. There are some courses which are free but if you want a verified certificate at end of it then you have to pay for it. Or you can just walk away with what you learned. Also there are real gems which are not listen in these sites but you have to manually search those university sites and discover. So if everyone else can share here what they have found from searching it would be great for those who looking for something to do while stuck at homes.

Decided to make the topic because I saw somewhere @deanhills mention about online courses.

Ok so lets started with something easy. Here's what Harvard university offers. These are totally free courses and page says they offer a certificate too. (There is no mention of a price so I assume it's free, hopefully). I picked up 3 courses, 2 related to Python and one about Mobile App development.

Code:
https://online-learning.harvard.edu/catalog?keywords=&paid%5B1%5D=1&max_price=&start_date_range%5Bmin%5D%5Bdate%5D=&start_date_range%5Bmax%5D%5Bdate%5D=&page=1

Also found this another Python course offered by IBM. It's free, but if you want a certificate then you have to pay like 39 usd. But I don't think most of us don't need a certificate. These are sevrel Python courses offered by IBM. Just search edx.org

Code:
https://www.edx.org/course/python-basics-for-data-science

Well I don't think all these courses has to be from those big universities. There are plenty of other places too such as coursera.org, udemy.com etc.

Hello Gamers!

With this thread I'm going to introduce you to a great oldschool hardware and software channel on Youtube. You may wonder what exactly is this about. This topic is all about cheating in the old good times of DOS computers. And this one is a very interesting one! We're talking about a piece of hardware called "The Ultimate Game Buster" that allowed to do a lot of things such as speedhacking, memory address modification and many other things including trainers. Check it out! A huge thanks to LGR for the great video.

If you like the video and the subject take a look at the channel. Maybe you like it as much as me and subscribe to it. I love watching all the videos about the old school computers, graphics cards, games and other stuff.

Hello and welcome!

Welcome to a historic topic about rare and bizzare media types from very long ago until today. Using this thread I'd like to introduce a great Youtube channel to you and also teach you a bit (well, not me but rather the Youtuber) about the history of media and storage types from the past. Enjoy 108 rare and bizzare media types brought to you by "The 8-Bit Guy". You will surely recognize (I hope) at least a few of the media types that are basically predecessors of media types still used today (although even they start to get rare). A few are predecessors of currently widespread media types such as Bluray discs or LTO media tapes used for data backups.

First of all, I have to say this thread is not about what you download but the software it self.

So I have been using qbittorrent software quite long time and it worked so great. But recently it was only downloading at 20-25 kbps or less. Normally it be around 600-1000 kbps. Some in reddit said it's something to do with their new version and older versions working fine. I tried that and that didn't work either. First I thought it's something to do with our ISP. They are know to do shit like this. But then I decided to try another software. So I have tried Vuze, which works fine. So I guess it has nothing to do with ISP but the software it self.

So anyone use qbitTorrent here and having same problem?

I could just dump it but there are couple of files which are already downloaded around 90% and want to get those before removing that software.
