I was just reading a VPS review and something in there made me want to ask the following question to the active members of this community, both those with and without a VPS hosting: Do you actually need a control panel to manage your VPS's services? Can you do without it? or Is it absolutely vital to get the job done?
By VPS services, I mean whatever things you're running on it: Web server, databases, DNS, mail, game servers (as this seems to be the main attraction around here) etc...
Given the number of threads about those control panels laying around this forum, I would guess many are!...
So, please feel free to give your opinion and take part in the poll.

Hi everyone, I'm back to Post4VPS. If you may know i was on break for few months then i posted this I'm Back, I guess thread but i wasn't really active as i used to be before. But on March my PSU (Power Supply Unit) of my PC has been fried 'cause of electrical problem and i couldn't fix it or buy new one because of lockdown, Thanks to coronavirus. But i finally got new PSU.
Now i finally got new PSU but still using decade old specification computer, Core 2 Due
Now i got enough budget to get new (used actually) PC but it's lockdown everywhere.
I hope to stay active as long as i can and do my part for P4V community.

Hello!
This is crazy, because I used to frequently use freeVps.us; and was going through my emails, and stumbled upon this site; after I found out freevps got shut down. I remember I was just a kid trying to start a minecraft server back then, that had no credit card so I had to try any means to get a server hosting.
I think its' really crazy now, because I am a software developer; and can do all of that now at least lol. I wish we could see our content from freevps, would love to go down memory lane.
Either way, this still seems like a great community to how I remembered it!

So finally I have started doing the VPS Review for ShadowHosting.net Sponsored VPS 5 which I received last month. Rather thing doing just benchmark focused review, I thought it's better try going into details of technical side as well as different different aspects of the server as well as VPS provider from user point of view. So I won't be doing one long post with everything but a set of posts in this thread discuses various things separately.
So lets start from the beginning. Post4VPS.com lost vps2 along with the sponsor somewhere between end of February to begin of March. So I lost the VPS which I had used since 2017. Compared to specs of servers we have today here it's not an one with high specs but it worked very well without downtime. Only once I had to make a support thread about it from 2017 to 2020. So after that I was given VPS5 from ShadowHosting which has far more superior specs than the lost vps.
What's VPS 5 -
So it's one to the best servers we have at Post4VPS.com. It comes with,
Specs show's it can handle a decent size game server or web server pretty well without any hiccups. My plan has been setting up a secondary web server so my main server can have bit of breathing space. First I had a small worry since the server is in Germany and my main traffic is from North America so I was wondering if this would make sites loading slow for audience. I did test and it didn't make a big difference. Also I like it having KVM along with Virtualizor panel.
It's not my thing but it's really great ShadowHosting allows it to be used to as game server. These days it's very hard to find free game server providers. Also they do offer premium Game servers for only starting from 2.50 usd/Month.
Web Server -
Tried to install VestaCP first but that didn't work. Nothing to do with server but the Ubuntu version I think. ubuntu-18.04-x86_64 didn't get along with VestaCP installation. So I used same OS with Cyber Panel. A new hosting panel compared to VestaCP. I got it installed without any trouble at all. Configuration was not that easy since Im totally new to it. The panel looks very clean and neat. I have moved 2 sites to test how things going and so far things are working great. Now I can move few bigger sites to the server.
VPS5 / ShadowHosting - Conclusion
ShadowHosting / @Manal has sponsored some great, high spec servers here at Post4VPS. So far I haven't had a single trouble with it. Web Server is running super fast and sites work great. So as web hosting server I can say ShadowHosting servers are great for those who want premium level Web Hosting.
They do offer hosting from UK, Fance and Germany. So many different packages of premium hosting. Shared hosting from 2.95$/month, Cloud Reseller Hosting from 18$/month, game servers from 2.50$/month, KVM VPS from 8$/month etc. You can get even 10% off from vps prices when you use the promo code NEW10. Also ShadowHosting offers Wordpress Hosting starts from 2$ per month for those who want to run a WP base website without bother about technical side much. This package is very handy for inexperinced web hosting users who want to move their blog from free to a better paid hosting package.

So Here's the first part of VPS5 Review as an average web hosting user. It's fast, Stable and getting good support so nothing much more to ask. ShadowHosting does offer premium packages for very affordable prices too.

XenForo is a paid Forum script - comes with a license fee. However, looks like another Forum I'm a member off is thinking of changing from myBB to XenForo.
I'm curious to know if there are members at post4vps who have gone through the experience of changing from a myBB Forum to XenForo Forum? What were the challenges that stood out the most? For example, I see there is a tool in XenForo to import a myBB Forum. Have you tried to do that, and what are the challenges to watch out for when you import myBB Forum to XenForo?
I'm also wondering if one has a myBB database, if one would be able to import it to XenForo via phpmyadmin? Like I was wondering whether one could create an empty database in phpmyadmin, install XenForo with that empty database, and then import the myBB database content into the empty XenForo database? Wishful thinking?
Something neat I learned through quick research was that many XenForo users are creating the XenForo forum with a WordPress Website. I checked through a tutorial where one database is used for both WordPress and XenForo. WordPress is the Website, and then through WordPress Menu is linked to XenForo Forum sharing the same database. However, can't help but wonder how secure that would be - probably better to stick with a static Website along side the Forum:

Hi,
I would like to know how many of you have experience in android coding. I would like to learn more from you too. I just started learning android coding recently. I bought a google developer account for publishing the app in playstore as well.
Let me link my app, so that you know how it looks. The app is just a web based one, not a genuine offline app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...artacademy
The app is just for an educational institute.
Let me see your apps if you have created one.

Hello guys,
I am just looking forward for multiplayer but based on servers since i don't like games in which we have to create the team of limited players.
Would be better if you guys suggest those games in which we(9-10) can play at same time unless like squad games.

hello guys from past months we all know in vps 1 game servers are not working samp or mta sa , well so today i really got this issue solved by evolution host ,actually today the same thing happen by my sponsor vps from evolution host last week they updated there network there network ,ddos protection, and they provided me new vps with new ip so i install mta sa server and tested it same like in vps 1 ,same problem is repeated again first i had join server but after i left and rejoin server it showed me same reason like in vps 1 server timed out but in ogp panel it shows server runs fine and ports are open so i email evolution host about the problem i got regarding game servers so they reply my mail support by stating this
hope p4v staff mention this to host4fun staffs
thankyou
Quote:I can confirm that this was most likely caused by the upgraded DDoS protection. We've proceeded to apply changes to the DDoS protection configuration for your server which will resolve the problem.then i check again by entering the mta sa server it worked perfect again ,so if host4fun staff providers also do the same thing like evolution host staff did then the vps 1 will work same like past ,game servers will work perfect again
hope p4v staff mention this to host4fun staffs
thankyou
