Hello Post4VPS members,
Today i was having a perfectly fine day studying for my exams until i received a message from my good old friend Noah(the Owner of SSDBlaze) telling me to backup my VPS as he is going to takedown the node which hosts all the VPSs including the sponsored VPS for Post4VPS, though the news was shocking for me i have long chats with him and know how hard it is to maintain free services. He is already kind enough to personally message me all the details about discontinuation he said the VPS node will be terminated within upcoming 3 to 5 days hence giving enough time to backup data and all. I request our VPS2 holder @xdude to backup his data within those days as we/post4vps and the sponsor/SSDBlaze will not be responsible for any data loss after the termination. Hope SSDBlaze have another new adventure(he promised me that he will come back with bang in 2021) although i know what he is working on i will remain silent here for the surprise launch and i do hope he will continue his business with others as he is one of the few server providers i personally know been working in industry with awesome services and cheap rates. I know this message is kinda taking long for the given message but oh well, Good Luck Noah with Dedicated Sales and that upcoming surprise.
Warm Regards
TrK and Post4VPS Team
Note: @xdude please do backup your server, i know i am gonna take mine and also @perryoo11 same applies to you buddy.

VPS Specifications of VS2-free by EUserv
Servers provided by EUserv. You can order max. three servers at once. All of them for free for 0.00 € / month.
Get it here: https://www.euserv.com/en/virtual-privat...2-free.php
Supported OSs (Linux only): https://www.euserv.com/en/virtual-privat...ems-v2.php
Beware that additional IPv6 addresses cost money and also a IPv4 address will cost you!
You can take part in a beta test for 100 Mbit/s unmetered network speed however without a SLA. Which might mean you might get low speeds at unmetered traffic or they might cancel the beta anytime. Nothing is guaranteed! This can be enabled in the control panel.
Benchmark (bench.sh 2.0)
Geekbench 5: Unfortunately Geekbench just exits at the multicore test without finishing and providing the actual result page. No error or anything. So a bit clueless. It exits at the same stage everytime. Probably something that stops it. It could also be caused by the lack of IPv4 (maybe it fails to upload results to the server - and for some reason DNS64 doesn't seem to work for it?).
Byte Unixbench: I actually didn't bother running this benchmark. It would take too long and I guess it would be terminated like the Geekbench benchmark before it could finish or the VPS might get suspended for high resource usage or something like that. Whatever EUServ uses / does to detect and terminate benchmark software.
These small boxes can be used to learn about IPv6 and how to use it with all your common hosted applications (web hosting and etc). You can use CloudFlare CDN to host websites on it that will be reachable over IPv4 too thanks to CloudFlare reverse proxy serving IPv4 and IPv6. Probably even more use cases available where IPv6 traffic and connections are acceptable.
You can access IPv4 content from the server without a IPv4 address by using a DNS64 server for DNS resolution inside the VPS (NAT64 is awesome!):
- https://v6tools.kasperd.dk/nat64handoff/service (Tested, working and fast)
- http://www.trex.fi/2011/dns64.html (Tested and working but slow)
- CloudFlare 1.1.1.1 DNS64 will not work!
- Google Public DNS64 will not work!
Read more: https://hiddenrefuge.eu.org/misc/dns64-nat64-gateways/
- 1x vCPU Core (AMD or Intel)
- 1 GB RAM
- 10 GB HDD
- 1 TB per month traffic @ 1 Gbit/s (shared)
- Network speed is throttled to 1 Mbit/s if monthly traffic is exceeded until the beginning of the next month!
- No IPv4 IP address included at all!
- 1x IPv6 IP address (/128) included for free
- Container based virtualization (I assume OpenVZ 7)
- Servers are located in Germany
- Free 10 GB backup space (FTP) included
- Control panel built into customer / billing panel
- rDNS support, rescue system, traffic monitoring included

One thing that is important when one buys a domain is to make doubly sure you are the only owner of that domain with exclusive access to the domain credentials - direct ownership. The best way to ensure this exclusive ownership is to do the sale directly with a well known Registrar such as Namecheap or Namesilo instead of using third parties or affiliates. Don't use a domain reseller whom you don't know and beware when friends of friends of resellers try and sell you cheap deals. Like if the price looks too good to be true, there is a very good chance it is too good to be true and you may become an unwitting victim of some or other scam. I'm not saying that is certain it will happen, but in this day and age of specialist hackers, particularly with domains you need to be vigilant and use lots of common sense.
Domain shadowing is one of the exploits that can happen to you when someone else gets access to your domain registration information. The information can be stolen, but it could also be obtained at the point of sale, like you're not the first owner, but the third party or reseller who sets the domain up for you - makes you into the second owner. Since they then have access to the DNS of your domain they can create sub-domains with it. They do it with a huge number of victims and through that they have the ability to set up massive lists of subdomains, which they can use in quickly rotating fashion to either redirect victims to attack sites, or to serve as hosts for malicious sites. Before you know it, your domain and IP get blacklisted and you won't be able to see any signs of hacking or exploits on your VPS as they don't need access to your VPS or server to do their evil deeds. They do it at the front end of the domain at the Domain Registrar.
So better be safe than sorry. Don't go for super cheap deals from domain affilliate resellers, or if and when you do, make dead certain you know whom you are dealing with. Rather insist in creating the domain directly with the Registrar and make sure to keep all of the information safe and secure so no one can get access to the information. Also check at your Domain Registrar as the really good Registrars will provide you with tools in your Registrar Dashboard with which you can keep your domain safe. Such as locking it.
