Post4vps received the following notification from HostLease.  Please note that the same legislation resulting in the HostDoc ID requirement is now applicable to all of the HostLease VPSs as well with immediate application. Note that this will apply to existing users of the VPS as well.  So if you wish not to submit an ID to HostLease, possibly you need to apply for a different VPS.

HostLease Wrote:Due to a change in our customer policy, we are obliged by the European Union of Web hosting services to collect and store an identity of our customers (we are also unable to do anything with regard to EU privacy legislation) but because we sponsor you it is important that the Media Group NL knows who we provide it to. I myself have done my best to stop this but unfortunately I could do nothing about it or pay a fine and apply this change to it. It is loud as follows. As of August 2, 2019, HostLease will request an Identity Card from the person who purchases the VPS that you have received from us. The moment we have received their ID card (Send via HostLease e-mail in connection with the VPN that is active on it.) Then we will save it on a server that is not itself connected to the internet and also a server that no one is visible to. makes. Only I am the only one who has access to it. If the VPS expires, we will destroy the submitted ID card to be 100% sure that nothing else can happen to it.

This is how HostLease wants you to provide the Proof of Identity:

HostLease Wrote:We ask the user to make a PHOTO / Screenshot of his identity card and send it to HostLease "[email protected]"

Delete the following information:
- Document No.
- Personal No.

If you want more information about this change, I kindly request you to submit a ticket via https://secure.hostlease.com/submitticket.php

Best regards,
Jordy.

Hello,
It has been came to our Attention that some users are unhappy with the process how the VPSs are being distributed and blaming Giveaway Manager for this, So with regards to that I am trying to make things clear once again.

We are not distributing VPSs randomly, doing the Giveaway is a process on its own, And for transparency we already made it clear about how the vpses would get distributed.
Except VPS 9, all VPSs are being distributed according to user credits, whoever has higher credits in their Post4VPS Forum account, they would be given more priority. Regarding the VPS 9, since it is a special VPS that's why we given more priority to the purpose of use of the vps, also it comes with no panels so it would require user who are comfortable with terminal control.
And about choice for credit as a main factor of winner is not random too.
Anyone having lesser credits should not think that users having 2x or 3x more credits are getting vpses more easily which is unfair. You would start understanding if you start thinking about how much time and efforts those users would have put into their posts to come up with such credits,

And if you think that its obvious that whoever comes first would be more richer since they are here for longer than you, well if you think from other way then you would also start understanding that its also not same as it looks, users who are here for longer, they must had been with us when no one were there and that makes them special too which is why they deserve those credits, we have got many users in past but only few were able to attain their legacy.

So rather blaming anyone we should try to contribute to the forum, and by doing that you would automatically get what you want.

And if anyone really have any problems then they can put things on suggestions, we would love to make necessary amendments since we would do whatever will be best for the forum.

Regards,

Hi,

Does anyone want to make an asphalt 9 club? If you don't know at they are, they are like a group of players who play together and try to get to the top of the leaderboard.#

Thanks,

@GeKePDP

Hi,

Does anyone know where I could get super secure, totally encrypted, unhackable, Wordpress hosting that is private (what I'm putting on there is purely for testing purposes, but it's very private) Any suggestions? Preferably free, no hidden charges, no trial period...

Thanks,

@GeKePDP

Hi,

What security software do you recommend on Windows Vista? I need so thing that will be easy to install and use. I'm not sure whether there is a good solution, but I think it's worth trying, as Widows Vista has many advantages that are very useful. First of all, the system is quite simple and fast to install.  Second, it doesn't require any special edition of VirtualBox. Even though I am running it in using this method, I have enabled shared folders, so I am worried about the security of my host computer. I know that many people will say not to go on dodgy websites etc, but the system could easily be hacked still, as it has network access and might infect my entire network.

Thanks,

@GeKePDP

Hi,

Does anyone know whether phpvirtualbox is allowed on the post4vps vps's. I mean the virtualbox part, not the php scripts. Sorry if this sounds a little confusing, read this blog post for more information. I am enquiring because I can't find this sort of web virtualisation anywhere online, so I think that it would be a valuable tool for some people. If for some reason I can't host the website part with post4vps, I would be happy to move that part elsewhere. Finally, even if it is allowed, would the servers be powerful enough. I have already tested the php virtual box app locally, so I can confirm that it works.

Thanks a lot,

@GeKePDP

I am having some issues using Jetpack, as I have no hosting and would like to use it without being stuck in development mode, as this limits most of the features. Does anyone have any ideas about this? Should I try to use some kind of virtual domain, or will this make it worse? Thinking Thanks, @GeKePDP.

I've just checked up with Google and this is what a "spamvertized website" means:

Quote:A site being “spamvertized” means that the site is being included as a link in spam emails. The most common reason your site appears in spam emails when you’re not the spammer is because your site has been hacked by someone.

The hacker places a small piece of code somewhere on your site that redirects a user to a different site. They do this because including their own website in emails they send will immediately flag spam detectors. Their site is already a known-bad-site. So they’d rather spamvertize your site to try and get more emails through spam filters.

This works for a while until your website is also associated with spam and they have to move on to another “clean” website that they can spamvertize and that will redirect to their own site.
https://www.wordfence.com/blog/2014/05/w...-about-it/

So an awesome irony occurred. On the very same day when I posted a review of Contabo Contabo received a complaint about my VPS IP being complicit in a spamvertised website.  Since I hadn't looked at my e-mails in my VPS Account for a while, I only learned about the problem yesterday morning.  Contabo received a complaint about a "spamvertized website" linked to my VPS IP on 10 July.  When I didn't respond within 36 hours they suspended my VPS with a notification that re-connection would cost me US$30.  So of course I complained heavily to Contabo yesterday.  I then wrote to them and asked whether they'd checked my VPS for any abnormalities before they suspended the VPS and they said "yes" they had, but now there was nothing on the VPS - I must have fixed it or had software on the VPS that took care of the problem.  So how could I have fixed it if the VPS was suspended?  Anyway, I was grateful I didn't have to pay the 30 US$, they unsuspended the VPS, but since the blog doesn't really mean anything to me, I reinstalled the OS immediately, and powered down the VPS as I'd like to get a better understanding of what had happened first.

I personally think it was a false positive, but it would be great to hear if this has happened to any other member at post4vps before?  At the time of this happening I had only one very small static blog on the VPS.  With no users connected with it, no comments enabled, no e-mails, no traffic.  A very small blog with my own personal experiences about Contabo. I have WordFence Security Plugin on it - and I'm sure WordPress users know how fast WordFence is with picking up on irregularities.  There had been no notifications from WordFence. There is also no e-mail server on the VPS. No automatic scripts running.

Only thing that did happen on 9th of July (the day before the complaint) that could have caused something to happen was I updated the following themes and plugins of WordPress.  And on the 10th of July I did a Benchmark test of the VPS using @"Hidden Refuge" Benchmark Script.  Here is a record of the script, plugins and themes that were updated.  Note they are all very straight up and down strictly WordPress products - and they were not actively used - only Wordfence and WP Classic Editor - the other plugins were "inherited" when I copied the Website:

1. The WordPress Script to 5.2.2
2. Plugin:  WP Classic Editor
3. Plugin: Contact Form 7
4. Plugin: Duplicator
5. Plugin: Limit Login Attempts Reloaded
6. Plugin: Responsive WordPress Slider (note it's not being used with the WordPress blog)
7. Plugin: WordFence Security
8. Themes: Twenty Thirteen, Fifteen, Sixteen, Seventeen, Nineteen

The following themes and plugins were actively used in the blog:

1. WordPress Script 5.2.2
2. WEN-Associate Theme
3. All-in-one WP Migration Plugin
4. All-in-one WP Migration Extension Plugin
5. WordFence
6. Limit Login Attempts Reloaded
7. WordPress Classic Editor

I had VestaCP loaded on the VPS without FTP or E-mail Server.

I had changed the Port Number in April.  When I first took occupation of the VPS in April I noticed a very abnormal number of failed login attempts, like larger than I'd ever experienced before.  It completely stopped when I changed the port number.

Tonight I was completely blown away when Jordy of Hostlease (@Pacific Spirit) advised that he had another VPS for post4VPS.com members specs of which would completely triumph those of all of the other HostLease VPSs!  I had to confirm with him it was a new VPS.

But it's real.  VPS 18 is here.  The specs definitely are awesome. Another VPS with Amsterdam location.  @Pacific Spiritays the VPS has been created for Games Servers with added DDoS protection.  And it's going to be part of the available VPSs for the next Giveaway on 1 August:

VPS 18 (1 in stock)
Disk Space: 75 GB SSD
RAM: 4 GB
IP Addresses: 1x IPv4
Virtualization: KVM
Monthly Traffic: 5 TB
Location:  Amsterdam/Lelystad, Netherlands
Control Panel: Ask Admin
Connection: 1Gbps
Windows OS: Yes.  Once trial has expired valid license is required.
Requirements: Backlinks to Hostlease and Post4VPS are required. And a sig backlink

Thank you for your generosity @Pacific Spirit.  This is much appreciated!
