Hey guys,
Finally I found sometime to post this, which I wanted to post since the last few days.
As the title itself suggests, this is in regards to the growing influence of technology in our daily lives. From a simple call to complex functions, everything is influenced by technology nowadays.
Among this, I'd like to highlight the emerging influence of Robotics in this sector. These days, a lot of innovation is taking place in this area. It's a rapidly emerging field for jobs and is if utmost importance. The other day, we'd a workshop at our school. It was organised by NIIT, New Delhi a well-reputed University in India. The professor who'd come to counsel also highlighted this. She said that Robotics is so rapidly emerging that by 2024, this industry will be occupying 23% of the GDP and will be employing millions of people around the globe.
This to definitely good, considering that I'm associated with this. We'd a Arduino workshop in our city, organized by IIT Delhi. Of course, I couldn't attend it, as it involved financial investment. But as far as I heard from my juniors who did attend, it was very fruitful and they taught about the basics of C language too, which forms the base of Arduino.
It's indeed good that we're having such a technological revolution, however, I think we're losing human values and morals due to this transition. My view is that we're not being able to preserve the humane feelings, which otherwise would well-balance out these revolution.
For instance, the other day I received a newsletter in which I read that, a school in Bangalore becomes the first in India to formally introduce and be implement the concept of robo-teachers. What robo-teachers? Sounds weird, doesn't it? Well it's true, read about this here
What are we heading towards? It's indeed a definite achievement that everything is heading towards automation, but not something to be appreciated so much, unless we're ready to bear is deadly consequences. Tell me something, can a robo-teacher ever replace a human teacher? Can those humanly values of love, compassion and care be ever executed by a machine, which is programmed to nothing beyond teaching? A.I. right? Artificial Intelligence. Wow! Such a solid word. But are the works done by it as solid? Can a tablet or a laptop filled with the most valued educational matter in every replace a book? You think it's possible? I don't.
I will never stand by such an idiotic concept. If machines teach humans, they're ultimately programming them to be machines, nothing else. Mark my words! There will be a day, when humans will regret this, but then it'll be too late. Thing's are still under control. Humans make robots, not vice-versa. If robots start manufacturing humanoids, then ... I've nothing to say.
Robots are good slaves but bad masters. If things continue this way, a day will come when robots will take over the world, and we'll be their peons. That day we'll be able to do nothing, but just gaze till it's all over. A thing which humans don't understand if that they make robots- why allow them to take three better of us?
I think I've spoken a lot. Now it's your turn guys. Lemme know what you think about this. I'm sure we'll have a great discussion on this.
Regards,

Today we received some updates about the VPS 9,
VPS 9 is going to switch its Virtualisation.(Currently We only recieved it for Chicago & Seattle Locations, Would update you guys if they go for other locations too).
So Downtime on 8 October, 2019 would be observed.
Here is the full info:
Quote:Your service with us is currently running on a virtualization technology that is no longer being supported after November 2019. We will be upgrading your service & moving it to a newer server with supported software.
What to expect:
Your service’s IP address will change
There will be up to a few hours of downtime while your service is moved
Your service’s data will be migrated and remain the same
Your service’s performance should increase
Although you are being moved to a more premium service, pricing will remain the same
Scheduled time:
Your service is scheduled to be migrated on October 8, 2019. Your service will experience some downtime between 8AM and 5PM, Pacific Standard Time. We recommend you back up your important data before this occurs. While complications are rare, they may occur.
More information (for advanced users)
Your service will be moved from our older OpenVZ6 node, which is reaching end of life. It will be migrated to a newer KVM node, with a new IP address. The OpenVZ container will be converted and moved over to this newer server. Your plan will become a “KVM Lite” package, which is our new line of services with features in between your current OpenVZ6 package and our premium KVM packages.
You will have dedicated disk space, full logical processors core(s) and it’s own kernel as a part of KVM virtualization, free of charge. However, as your package was initially OpenVZ6, we will not perform or provide any additional premium services, such as custom ISO mounts, or allow the purchase of dedicated cores. Your package will also remain Linux-only, and usage levels must fall in line with the fair use policy.
Please review our AUP for KVM Lite packages below:

Hey,
There is alot of debate on graphic cards/GPU performances on our gaming communities, so i thought to bring this matter to this forum as well, since we got many experts on this forum.
actually my real question is: Why lower specifications Graphic cards works better than high specs? (almost all times)
its not only my experience but many other users experienced it, I had a GTX 660 and my friend had a GTX 1080 but i was getting much better FPS from him

Hello there,
I would like to suggest a thing which is only to help and reduce the admins work since they have other works to do aswell and p4v moderation is kinda inactive.
The thing i want to suggest is "Do not count one liner posts in montly posts and i believe its possible since p4v got its own post counter", i noticed i had posted one liner post as well, but i had no intention to increase my monthly post count. I just wanted to give my opinion about topic and i did not have much content to post in that thread.
This system will allow users to give their opinion in simple words and it won't bother the staff as well, since user will have to complete his post in quality/long posts

Hello everyone!
Great news for all users of CentOS: CentOS 8 has been finally released into the public as the next stable CentOS version.
What are the changes? A few major things:
- Like in Fedora the new dnf package manager has been adopted (known as yum 4)
- Kernel 4.18 is being used as the base (a more recent kernel as CentOS 7 was using 3.7.x)
- New versions of various software packages are of course available (glibc 2.28, systemd 239 and so on)
- Modules known from Red Hat Enterprise Linux have been adopted into CentOS 8 allowing usage of same software in multiple versions on the same machine (e.g. running Postgresql 9.6 and 10)
- Updates are available til 31st May 2029
Whole release notes are available at https://wiki.centos.org/Manuals/ReleaseN...ntOS8.1905
A new package manager is probably a great thing. From the looks dnf works much like yum though. Commands are like this "dnf install <package_name>" (quite similar to yum install <package_name>).
More about it here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/DNF
A new kernel is certainly a very welcome thing. Since 3.7.X there were so many changes in the kernel. A lot of useful features and massive improvements have been added. Redesigned network stacks and drivers to get much better performance out of the hardware and network. Much much more. Unfortunately this means that CentOS 8 won't be available on OpenVZ 6 and what about OpenVZ 7?... Good question!
New versions of software are obviously always a good thing. You don't want to be stuck with old versions that might be still maintained but don't receive new feature updates that newer versions have, right?
The idea of software acting like modules is a great thing. This can improve work a lot by allowing to run multiple software instances of the same software side by side without having to use VMs or even using Docker. Don't quote me on that though! I'm a Debian user and as such I have never tried or seen the module concept of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
And the cherry is as always the massive support cycle. CentOS always gives a lot of time and dedication in this terms. CentOS 6 is very old by now BUT it is still supported until 30 Nov 2020! As it was released in 2011.. that is around 9 years of support. Other Linux distributions lose support in matter of a year or as soon as a new version arrives. Excluding of course their LTS version that usuall also get longer support but granted not as long as CentOS.
