Do you fear file, download software contains viruses? Do not worry, there are the best online virus and malware scanners I will introduce in this article.

1. Jotti's Malware Scan
2. VirusTotal
3. F-Secure Online Scanner (Download without installation)
4. Metadefender

Conclude:

The online virus scanner is a useful solution to help you secure your system, however, keep in mind that these tools can not replace your primary security suite because:
  • Need internet connection to use
  • Most only meet a specific requirement
Therefore, you should only consider it as a secondary security layer and have proper usage.

Having fun

I'm just wondering loudly here.  Since we seem to have more VPSs than I can see active members posting for, is there any chance to apply for a Second VPS for an additional 15-20 posts?  With the condition that if things should get tight and supply less than active members, that the second VPS be returned to the pool?

Maybe we could do it the same as we used to at freevps.us.  Have a second giveaway immediately after the first giveaway for the Giveaway VPSs that haven't been allocated?

This way we can make sure that all VPSs are working for post4vps.com and earning traffic through additional posts instead of sitting idle in the pool?

Any suggestions for protecting electronic hardware from power outages?  Are you experiencing outages in your country?

In South Africa there is only one large corporation that provides electricity to the country.  This year among all other parastatal scandals they discovered massive corruption and wastage of funds at the electricity supply commission.  The most recent infrastructure that was being built and counted for the total electricity supply was faulty, because of bribery and corruption with using different suppliers to supply building materials, the specs didn't all fit, so the stations have to be continuously fixed, which means down time and loss of electricity supply.  Bottom line, of all months of the year, they all of a sudden decided in December to do load shedding.  Which means they work out a time table by which all of the regions in the country have down times for electricity at different times.  They said in the press it was due to start in December, but to our annoyance it started yesterday.  I'm not pleased, particularly since the area I live in has been hit with a time table right in prime time TV and computer use.  7:00 to 9:30 p.m. However I don't mind as long as I have advance warning so I can turn off my computer hardware ahead of the down time. Depending on the stage of load shedding, we have one down time slot for the day, and for phase 2, two. We're on phase 1 for now with 2.5 hours in one slot.

Anyway - bigger worry for me is the effect it has on my electronic equipment with unexpected down time when they are changing the phases with little warning - like they did on 30 November.  Are there other members like me who are living in communities with irregular supply, and what do you do to secure your equipment for unexpected power outages?

Few weeks ago I had this problem with The Pirate Bay Site. I use it to check pilot episodes of  new TV series and I have started feeling like somethings not right with PC. Seems little bit slow than it usually is. I always have several programs and lots of sites open so CPU usage is usually heavy. But this time it's extra slow so I tested software as well as sites in browser to see which one is the culprit. It was TPB. After checking about this online I learn they are using a codehive without saying to users.

.

But today its seems lots of sites using these codehive scripts specially sites like TPB and also those stream sites. Well, I don't mind if they do it with user permission and using acceptable level of CPU but it seems now this is getting out of hand. Not all virus guards detect these for now. Im sure they will start detecting these in future. So what you can do for now ?

.

There are few good Addons for Google Chrome. for example No Coin addon and MinerBlock addon works great.
Code:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/minerblock/emikbbbebcdfohonlaifafnoanocnebl?hl=en

I use MinerBlock for Firefox and it works pretty good.
Code:

Quote:Note: When I was creating this tutorial I use the latest version of the Firefox browser. In the subsequent tutorial “Publishing to S3” I initially continued in the Firefox browser but ran into loading issue with the pano.xml file after uploading Pano2VR projects via Firefox. Switching to Google Chrome resolved the issue so I would highly recommend that you use an alternative browser for the publishing tutorial.

I just realized that there's no way in hell I'm going to have time to put good use to a VPS for some time.

I really can't use it to its peak capacity. I can't do it justice. I don't have time.

So, I'm not actually going to request a VPS this month. No. Let it go to someone who will actually use it better than I will.

I'm still gonna post, however. I should have time after the new year.

Once again, I am not sleeping. As such, and having decided to give this site some content above and beyond the minimum required, I'm going to write about music some more.

First, I invite you to open this and listen in a new tab while you read this.
https://instaud.io/2OYl

That is a song by a band named Jethro Tull and the name is Aqualung.

What I do with music is I make faithful replications. That is, I try to recreate the music as accurate as possible. What you hear from me should sound nearly identical to what you hear on the radio. That's my job when I perform. I cover music artists. I recreate their music.

Anyhow, the above song is one of my favorites and what you're hearing is not just me. The acoustic guitar is a Martin D-28 being played by a young lady that has been studying for less than a year. She dedicates six hours per day, every day, to studying to master the guitar and she's gotten that good in less than a year. She's just sixteen.

I'm playing the lead. That's an electric guitar, obviously. That's a guitar known as a Les Paul with (for most of it) an effect known as 'distortion.' Technically, that's fuzz - which is a type of distortion. I cheated and that's a Marshall amp but I'm using profiler on top of it to sound like one of the old Fender silverface amps.

If you'd like to hear the original song, here's a YouTube link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0jMPI_pUec

Obviously, there's no drum in there and we were only playing the guitar parts. But, that's the original. I do play other instruments, but I seldom bother to record them unless someone specifically requests something. My first love was percussion but I've been playing the guitar for nearly five decades. (It will be exactly 50 years on 12/25/2018.)

It's a passion. It's a dedication. A rough estimate is that I've probably had a guitar in my hands for about 40,000 hours.

What are your passions? Am I the only musician here? Are there any music-related questions that I can answer for you?

Hello everyone,
i would like to ask if any of you guys can do full blown java development [at least anything you can do on raspberry pi] on your android phones.

i know termux is a candidate for that. But thta cant use javac to compile the code. it uses bc. also the latest java is not available there either. i am talking about openjdk 11. Even Ubuntu 18.10 has version 10 that installs when you do openjdk11...it is like a placeholder. They will update the files when they are done checking and satisfied enough to allow it in ubuntu rep.

Apart from the fun aspects of being able to use java 11 on a phone, it would be nice to have a device on you to do some on-the-road-code-wrangling.

thanks

Today i came to know a phishing site from an article on a renowned security blog that was talking about how sophisticated phishing site makers have become lately. it was a url that looked almost like the original site url except it had a curious mark over the i. Not a dot but a comma there.

We have a bank: SBI. I thought what if someone made a phishing site with that letter in place of i. We usually look for https padlock and the url. But i guess even i could easily miss that..i say "even i" cause i am hyper paranoid. If i get fooled i am sure many regular folks will get it wrong if not most.

So i decided to do a little survey kind of thing and post the url here openly asking people whether they can see the difference from the original url.

As a result i got a 30 percent warning... as a member and wellwisher of this community, i would like to point out that it was a bad use of the forum rules here.

I didn't hide that it was a phishing site. Also i was not trying to get people into trouble.

Winning a vps is not the most important thing here...it is my reputation. How i appear in the eyes of my friends and peers around here is what at stake here.

I appealed our founder and the staff responsible ..hope they see my point and respond. Here is the text.

Please pardon the mistakes in english. Thanks.

arsalahmed786 Wrote: Wrote:Dear rudra

You have received a warning from the staff of Post4VPS Forum | Free VPS Provider.
--
You've received warning level 30% for a month because of sharing phising site which is against forum rule #14
--

You can't participate in any giveaway until your warning level expire.
I am appealing to you guys against the punishment. (If it is not a punishment then a warning is ok i guess. Even though it still feels bad. I have never been warned on any sites so far. )
I posted cause people are not aware of punycode and internationalized domains. They make phishing site urls look so similar to the original. So it was the start of an effort to increase awareness... it is not like i didnt mention that one of them was a phishing site and copy of the other...
Also is it not better to work against and talk about phishing than to do hush hush.

( edit..The punishment feels like ) Like carpet bombing or like getting killed by swatting.

Here in india, most of us are taught to not talk about sex and sexual organs. I dont think that has helped much when it comes to sexual crimes and women safety.

Not saying bad words, being gentle and polite wont help you when you are in trouble from one who does. I think it is better to know what to expect and prepare for it. Also many phishing sites are increasingly using https and showing green padlock in the process. So we need to raise awareness.
The rule is here so people do not promote bad things. But writing to raise awareness and promoting are not the same thing...
I would very much appreciate if you guys reconsider the warning.
Thanks.
Rudra..
