Thanks to Shadow Hosting, I've been up and stable for over a month!

So, I figured I'd run INXI and show you the results:

Code:

Sadly, I'll still have to redo it. LOL I somehow managed to install the 32 bit version of Ubuntu. Still, it has VirtualMin and WebMin and has been running like a top. I haven't had nearly as much time as I'd hoped, but the system has been really low on time requirements, which is nice.

I've been exceptionally busy. I knew that I'd be busy around the holidays, but it's been busier than I'd expected. It looks like we'll have a bunch of bookings this coming season, which is nice.

Anyhow, this is my student's project. She's on guitar and I'm on drum. She directed the drum and both guitar parts are her.

We have a Twitter account at another host that one of the Admin put lots of work in.  It was started in 2017 before the advent of TweetDeck, which meant that the account login and password had to be shared by the owner and the Admin who did the work, rather than giving the Admin Admin access.  Now of course it's much easier with TweetDeck, but then it was different.

When we tried to access the account a week ago, all of a sudden there is a popup from Twitter asking for verification by phone only, ending in two digits that the owner says is definitely not his phone number.  The annoying part was that the popup didn't even give an alternative option for e-mail verification, only phone verification.  Then to make it even more suspenseful, when I tried to do a password reset request as a Plan B to get past verification, I discovered that our Twitter account stopped receiving Twitter Notifications at our e-mail address since November last year.  It stopped on 24 November 2018.  I then went like a tooth comb through WHM e-mail lists, and looks as though the emails haven't been blocked or junked as they're nowhere to be found.  They just haven't been received.

I'm almost certain the account has not been hacked. If it had, I'm sure something would have looked different in the tweets and stood out. All of it looks as it normally looks.

So during all of that when I checked tracking - this is what I received, and here I'm lost.  What does this mean?  Not sure if I understand wrongly, but isn't this a routing system through Google that is for apps?  So could it be the routing system that is a problem for us, and is there a way to sort this out - like is there anything on our end we can do to make sure we receive those notifications?

This is the tracking numbers:

Now what was interesting is that we have received an e-mail from Google in Ireland - [email protected].  Not sure whether this is significant.  The notification e-mails from [email protected] that we haven't received come from California in the US (says so in the footer of their notifications).

We have some recurring spammers/spam bots who are spamming our Forum with "essays" and "services" threads. On top of it they're copy paste too. Please try not to respond to those threads as the threads will be removed from the Forum together with your post. You'll have wasted a post.

They look like these - I've removed the links, which is of course the spam part of it Tongue

Quote:The HomePod is a relatively recent product launch by Apple but a number of products similar to it are available in the market. Then what makes it so popular? Apple users prefer that it can be integrated with Siri and then you can access the Apple Music app through it. However, unlike Bluetooth devices, you need an internet connection to make HomePod work. Well, that is what most people believe but there is an alternative for it too. You might have searched for how to use HomePod without Wi-Fi and yes, it is possible to do so. You just have to follow a few steps and you can easily set it up. Have you tried to use it without Wi-Fi?

Lampard asked me to try out one of his UK Fast Shared Hosting Accounts (for speed) that comes with cPanel and I was blown away with how good it is.  Like every host says his service is fast, but this is REALLY fast.  I also like the packages that are on offer, as it's obvious he put careful thought into this.  Like they're for a market of people who need cheap, reliable, quality hosting, and for me he has achieved that objective.  He has fast hosting for the UK on UK Servers, for Europe on Europe servers, US on US servers and Singapore on Singapore servers - and in addition Games Servers which we all know Lampard is a great specialist off.

Here are the packages on offer for the UK Fast Hosting:

I chose the small package that is 1.40 US$/month.  Definitely, I could immediately feel the speed and attention to detail in performance and service.  I had all of my panel info and name servers within minutes of submitting my application.  It is  effortless to register an account.  Also very easy to create tickets.  All of it very user-friendly.

I was in cPanel almost immediately after receiving my hosting information.  Again for someone like me who often works with WHM and cPanel I was struck by Lampard's careful management that goes beyond just loading his Panel once he received a license.  He carefully fine tuned it for maximum efficiency.  I noticed how this time round my domains didn't receive auto self-signed certificates, which is brilliant.  I've noticed at another host where I'm helping we are receiving plenty of support requests for the auto self-signed certificates.  How that happens is that cpanel sends e-mails to the domain owners that have them very worried.  I'm sure with how Lampard has set it up, this makes that problem go away. He leaves it up to the domain owner to choose a whole variety of ways to get self-signed certificates - including Let's Encrypt. He doesn't impose auto self-signed on any one.  There is even a Two-Factor Authentication tool in the cPanel Security section. Again a sign of how well managed the WHM/cPanel is.

Lampard has also included a Cloudflare plugin for those who love their Cloudflare plugins:

If that isn't enough, Lampard provides in great detail for a very solid backup system that is much improved over the one that is provided by default in cpanel.  This is what Lampard's version looks like:

I did a typical installation of a WordPress site.  For that of course Softaculous was there, and Softaculous has now perfected the installation so much so one doesn't even have to create a database or user first, nor does one have to sign in from scratch after the WordPress site has been created.  It just provides a link and before you know it you're in the Dashboard.  Took me under a minute to get an installation up.  All I had to do after that was load my trusted All-in-one WP Migration tool, and it's extension. Then imported a copy of my previous site.  And I was good to go.

Can definitely recommend this shared hosting for any one who wants fast reliable cpanel and softaculous hosting that is in excellent admin hands and with generous support.

Have you ever wondered how OVH's anti-ddos mechanism works? I have seen some booter's owner trying to attack me with attacks going as hard as 6 GB/sec on OVH's server but still, the server didn't went down(it lagged a bit and maybe because some packets weren't filtered but it lagged soo less that no one would even doubt if that lagged).

They've explained how it works. How the mitigation starts and what not in their anti ddos mitigation solution webpage. But still, I'm much more curious about how do they work.
They may have big machines backing off the power? But in TBs? How can even a big floor sized server protect a TB attack?

How does its VAC work? If anyone have any idea with its deep explanation of its mitigation mechanism and how does/may it look? Has anyone ever wondered about that?
