VPS 15 comes with two IPs, so this is my first experience with trying to put more than one IP on VestaCP. A nice challenge.

Previously I never bothered with how VestaCP set up the IP as I always had one IP, but this time round I have to add the second IP manually. It asks for a submask, and I don't have the foggiest what it should be?

Can I use the same Netmask that VestaCP loaded for the installation IP? Like have two IPs with the same Netmask, or do I need to figure out a different Netmask for the second IP. If yes, if it has to be different, how does one do that?

We will be having a planned Maintenance Period today to install a new remote reboot system to allow rebooting servers more quickly and more easily once a server hangs up and cannot be rebooted any other way.
Downtime is expected and all Services will be down during this period.
Unknown ETA of when the Planned Maintenance Period will happen today(due to having to work with the datacenter remote hands people on this.) and it should be fairly quick process once the remote reboot system is installed and all servers are moved from the PDU to the remote reboot system. all is required after that is time for all servers to boot back up afterwards.
We thank you for your patience & understanding in this matter.

Maintenance was canceled.
We Thank you for your patience & understanding in this matter.

I'm hoping that members can come up with some ideas of how we can get more new members to join post4vps?  Do you for example know of discussion forums or discord type chat groups, maybe facebook or any of the other social media groups where you can let people know about post4vps.com?

If you do, here is some good wording and images for getting the message out there (Dynamo is the author):

Hello Guys,
Today i am going to introduce you guys to a forum that provides free VPSs to users who are active in our Forum.  Post4vps.com is a VPS tech forum where you can learn and share knowledge about how to get cheap and free VPSs.  Members also share their knowledge about other free related services.  You can check out the Forum's available VPS Plans here:
https://post4vps.com/announcement-1.html

How Users can get Free VPS?

Answer: Users just have to join this forum and do 25 posts (nice quality) and take part in VPS Giveaways which happens on the 1st of every month.  Then to keep the VPS they have to make 20 posts per month.

The Forum uses NewPoints Plugin to recognize the size and value content of the posts and it calculates the score into dollars. Users must have equal to or greater than $100 credits in their account before they can make a request for a VPS.  But it doesn't take long to get there.

The owner of the Forum wants to help those users who want to learn about using VPSs or don't have money to get VPSs for the applications they want to run on a VPS.  The VPSs at post4vps are provided by sponsors who are promoting their VPSs.  They are all high quality VPSs with very good specs and suggest you check them out here for a comparison of what is available.

Yesterday I learned about one of our VPSs "leaking" and couldn't figure out what that meant until it happened to me tonight.  Packet loss!  So thought I would study what packet loss is about and write a summary here for in case this should happen to any one else.

What is packet loss?
This is when data you send and receive fail to reach its destination.  Technically it means slow downs, disruptions, or even a total loss of connectivity.  Worst affected by packet loss are real time audio or video, and gaming.  So can imagine this has to be really bad for Game servers and other audio applications on VPSs.  In my case it was my VestaCP Panel.  Something happened to the database.  It got fixed.  And then next there was total loss of connectivity.

Causes of Packet Loss

Network Congestion
Could be that some of the connections are at their maximum capacity so that when packets arrive they have to wait their turn before they get passed on.  If the connections fall behind in processing the packets there may not be enough memory to hold on to them and they get lost.

Faulty or Outdated Networking Hardware
Outdated network switches can't keep up with demand, particularly when the Internet connections become faster relative to what the switches have been designed for.  Traffic may then exceed the capacity of the device resulting in packet loss.

Software bugs
This often gets fixed with rebooting the VPS.

So who knows.  Maybe the Phoenix network has become congested and maybe hardware can't keep up with Internet connections.

I'm just creating this thread for the record.  VPS 9 - Phoenix went down tonight.  Not sure what happened.  Hope it's not VestaCP related.  First sign was when I couldn't get my blog up.  It said the database was not working.  I then checked VestaCP and managed to fix the database by restarting the service.  All Websites were OK after that.  Within minutes afterwards the whole VPS went down.  Couldn't SSH into it, also was unable to get into the Admin Panel for Phoenix VPS 9, the panel hanged and timed out - all other VPS Panels were OK.  So obviously something significant possibly happened to the Phoenix VPS Node.  have submitted a ticket for it.

All other location VPS 9's are OK.  I checked.  Just Phoenix that went down.  First time that's happened in almost a year of having it.  Wonder whether this is a sign that I need to make a change?  Tongue

Have anyone watched any Korean Drama so far? I'm looking forward to watching one as they're so good haha. I saw clips of some dramas on Facebook. If anyone has watched any Korean Drama before, suggest me one.

And yea, I have planned to start with "Descendants Of The Sun".

Sorry if this is the wrong section.

EDIT :- I haven't started it yet but looking out for suggestions and discussion on Korean Drama if anyone have/has watches/watched Korean Drama.

Hi,

Site: freemc.host
panel link : panel.freemc.host

Today I'd like to show you guys how you can host a minecraft server, with 8 GB RAM, and that can even be upgraded to 20 GB if you are lucky. Another great feature of their hosting is that they provide service in US as well as EU which is very very rare for a free host. They can afford this by advertisement through their discord server and sponsors backing them up. I'll walk you guys through the setup process.

First of all, go to their site, and register for an account. You need to be on their discord to get anything that is why you must have a discord account for this, if you don't then you can quickly make it It doesn't require a lot of effort. To login, click on the "Log in" button on the top left corner. This site is custom made so It may not function perfectly, but It is being improved slowly. After loggin in with your discord account, you can click on "Create your first free server" on the left hand side of the page. This will lead you to a form that you can then fill, It is basic information such as your email, username, name, password etc. These will be used to make your account on the control panel.Once you've made the account, you simply need to wait till they accept your application, personally I was accepted on the same day but I've heard Its taken people upto a week to get accepted, so really Its just wait till you get accepted.Once you are accepted, you will be emailed another link that you can goto to setup your server location.

Once your server is created, you can goto your servers and get the login details, which you can then use to sign in to your account on the control panel. You will start with 2 GB of RAM but you will be able to extend it, here's how.

In the discord server, goto the #ram channel, and join the given discord servers. These are basically advertised servers and will increase your server ram, joining one server usually gives you one extra GB of RAM, if you join all you can get upto 9 GB Ram! Once you join the server the process is automatic and after sometime(usually a few hours) you'll see your RAM updated to the new number.

About the 20 GB, they also host giveaways regularly allowing extensions of RAM, and the biggest one I've seen yet is a monstrous 20 GB!!

Now you can easily enjoy free minecraft host, with good cpu, good support, and lifetime service!

If you liked the tutorial, feel free to say so, and if you want to ask any questions you're free to do that too! c:
